Okudzeto Started Well But Lost Guard — Kwadwo Yeboah Questions Okudzeto’s Handling Of Foreign Affairs
Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Organizer for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Kwadwo Yeboah, has raised concerns over the handling of the Foreign Affairs Ministry under Okudzeto, questioning inconsistencies in his actions and decisions.
According to Kwadwo Yeboah’s celebration on Kessben Maakye show in Accra, he stated, Okudzeto initially performed creditably as Foreign Minister, particularly in stopping the alleged attempted sale of Ghana’s embassy property in the United States.
However, he argued that the minister appeared to have lost his guard in the latter part of his tenure.
Yeboah further questioned discrepancies between a list reportedly released by Okudzeto and another submitted to the NPP, insisting that the two did not tally.
He maintained that proper documentation could have prevented the confusion surrounding the matter.
The former NPP organizer also criticized what he described as arrogance among certain political figures, warning that such attitudes could attract public condemnation.
He further suggested that some NPP personalities involved in Foreign Affairs Ministry documentations could deliberately undermine Okudzeto’s administration and make him lose respect and admiration of the public.
His remarks raise questions about transparency, accountability and political conduct in the management of Foreign Affairs.

Don’t Destroy Okudzeto Ablakwa Over Past Mistakes — Citizen Ato Dadzie Fires Back At Critics
General Secretary of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Citizen Ato Dadzie, has called for fairness, accountability and restraint in political criticism, warning against attempts to destroy the reputation of individuals over mistakes made in the past.
In a zoom meeting on Kessben Maakye show in Accra, Ato Dadzie defended Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, describing him as one of the young ministers performing well in government.
According to him, everyone is bound to make mistakes, and political leaders should be judged fairly rather than subjected to personal attacks.
“Where there is justice, you can also get injustice,” he stated, stressing that the minister has demonstrated openness to accountability.
Ato Dadzie further argued that individuals should not be quick to dismiss the good work of public officials because of past controversies.
He also referenced the minister’s reported intervention to save a Ghanaian facing execution in Saudi Arabia, describing it as an achievement worthy of recognition.
“We should not be in a rush to rubbish all the wonderful things he has done so far,” he cautioned.
The GCPP General Secretary also took aim at what he described as coordinated attempts to undermine individuals performing well in governance.
He insisted that responsible opposition should focus on presenting superior ideas rather than searching for weaknesses to tarnish the image of political opponents.
“As a responsible opposition, I don’t need to look for your flaws to tarnish one’s image but would rather raise my best ideas to surpass you,” he noted.
Ato Dadzie concluded by urging Ghanaians not to personalise issues involving Okudzeto Ablakwa simply to revisit mistakes made in the past.
His comments add to the ongoing conversation about political accountability, constructive opposition and the need to recognise achievements while holding public officials responsible for their actions.

Okudzeto Ablakwa’s Downfall Is His Arrogance Of Power – NPP Fires Back Over Chartered Flight Saga
The New Patriotic Party”s (NPP) Deputy National Communication Director, Gordon Asare Bediako, has launched a scathing attack on Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, accusing him of displaying arrogance of power amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the use of chartered flights.
Speaking at Kessben Maakye show in Accra, Gordon Asare-Bediako, questioned the minister’s commitment to accountability and transparency.
According to him, the Minority has not accused Ablakwa of committing any crime but is demanding clarity over issues surrounding the use and cost of chartered aircraft.
Asare-Bediako alleged that the Majority had indicated that Nana Asafu-Agyei was seeking for some help for his Godfather Nana Boakye from the Foreign Affairs Ministry but could not obtain it, prompting the press conference
.
He further accused the Minister of attempting to rubbish the work of the multimedia committee despite alleged discrepancies between documents presented to the NPP and multimedia materials.
Touching on the cost of chartered flights, Asare-Bediako questioned claims that previous arrangements cost approximately US$300,000 per flight through Ethiopian Airlines, but the Minister claimed it costed US$750,000.
He argued that the figures raise serious questions that require public clarification.
“He who was calling for accountability is now running away from accountability,” Asare-Bediako stated.
The NPP communicator further insisted that Okudzeto Ablakwa must be held accountable if he maintains that issues surrounding chartered flights constitute a national security matter.
The allegations and cost figures remain claims attributed to Asare-Bediako and have not been independently verified.

NPP Should Have Stopped Mahama in 2024, Not Cry Over Third-Term Claims Now – Charles McCarthy Fires Back
Charles McCarthy of The Hawk Newspaper has taken a swipe at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over its concerns about President John Dramani Mahama potentially seeking another term in office, insisting that the party should have challenged his eligibility before the 2024 general elections.
According to McCarthy, the NPP’s allegations about President Mahama extending his stay in office beyond the constitutionally permitted eight years are dead on arrival.
He argued that if the opposition party genuinely believed Mahama’s return to the presidency would raise constitutional concerns, it should have taken steps to prevent him from contesting the 2024 presidential election.
McCarthy recalled that Mahama assumed the presidency following the death of former President John Evans Atta Mills in July 2012, serving approximately five months before winning the December 2012 presidential election.
He questioned why the NPP did not raise decisive legal objections before Mahama’s return to power, given its current concerns about presidential term limits.
However, McCarthy stressed that President Mahama has not publicly declared any intention to seek another term after completing his current mandate.
Meanwhile, McCarthy has called on the Supreme Court to crack down on lawyers who repeatedly bring what he describes as frivolous and trivial cases before the apex court.
He proposed that lawyers who abuse the judicial process should face disciplinary measures, including the temporary suspension of their professional licences.
McCarthy believes such sanctions would discourage unnecessary litigation and help protect the integrity of Ghana’s judicial system.
His comments add to the ongoing political debate over presidential term limits, constitutional interpretation and the role of the judiciary in Ghana’s democratic governance.

Akwasi Opong-Fosu to begin NDC chairmanship campaign in Volta Region
Former Minister of State launches nationwide campaign tour on November 2, seeking support for the party’s national chairmanship with a focus on unity, grassroots empowerment and consolidating the NDC’s achievements.
Dr Akwasi Opong-Fosu, an aspiring National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), is set to begin his nationwide campaign tour in the Volta Region on Monday, November 2, 2026.
His campaign team announced the development in a press release dated October 29, 2026, explaining that the decision to begin the tour in the Volta Region recognises the region’s historic loyalty, sacrifices and contributions to the growth and electoral successes of the NDC.
The team also described the region as strategically important to the party’s future, saying the visit would provide an opportunity for Dr Opong-Fosu to engage party stakeholders, listen to their concerns and share his vision for the party.
The campaign is being conducted under the theme “Consolidating the Gains!”, with the stated objective of protecting the achievements and legacy of President John Dramani Mahama while positioning the NDC to retain political power in 2028 and beyond.
Focus on grassroots participation
According to the statement, the engagements will bring together regional and constituency executives, delegates, branch executives, party elders, cadres, former and serving Members of Parliament, former and current government appointees and other key stakeholders.
The campaign team said the interactions would help build consensus around a stronger, more united and inclusive NDC.
A central feature of Dr Opong-Fosu’s campaign is the 3Vs agenda — Votes, Voice and Viability — which seeks to ensure that grassroots members are recognised, heard and economically empowered.
The team said the approach would give party members a greater role in shaping the NDC’s future and strengthen the relationship between the party’s leadership and its grassroots structures.
Experience and party reorganisation
Presenting his credentials, the campaign team described Dr Opong-Fosu as a founding member of the NDC, a former Member of Parliament, former Minister of State and experienced public administrator.
It argued that his experience in government and understanding of the party’s foundations and grassroots structures make him suitable to lead the organisation.
The campaign team further said his institutional knowledge and commitment to party unity would help consolidate the NDC’s achievements and safeguard its political future.
The Volta Region tour will mark the beginning of his nationwide engagements as he seeks delegates’ support in the contest for the party’s national chairmanship.

I wonder what campaign message the NPP will use in 2028
As Ghana moves towards the 2028 general elections, one question worth asking is what message the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will present to convince voters to give it another opportunity to govern.
The party, led into the next election by former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, faces the challenge of turning its criticism of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) into a convincing vision for Ghana’s future.
Will the NPP campaign on the economy, job creation, the cost of living, corruption, illegal mining or what it considers the government’s broken promises? Or will it focus on explaining what it has learnt from its own time in office and why Ghanaians should trust it again?
The party has already signalled some priorities. Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh has said the fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, will form a central part of its 2028 campaign narrative.
Dr Bawumia has also criticised the NDC government’s proposed 24-hour economy, arguing that it has not delivered the promised jobs. He has indicated that the NPP intends to campaign on practical, costed ideas that it believes it can implement.
But identifying issues to campaign on is only part of the challenge. The bigger question is whether the party can present a coherent message that addresses voters’ concerns while convincingly explaining its own record in government.
Ghanaians will likely want more than accusations against the NDC. They will want clear answers on how the NPP plans to create jobs, improve incomes, strengthen public services, tackle illegal mining and manage the economy differently.
The party must also demonstrate that it has learnt lessons from its 2024 electoral defeat and can offer credible solutions rather than simply promise a return to power.
For Dr Bawumia and the NPP, the task is therefore not merely to identify the government’s weaknesses. It is to persuade voters that the party has a better plan, a credible team and the discipline to deliver on its promises.
So, what exactly will the NPP’s campaign message be in 2028? Will it be a campaign built around the government’s shortcomings, or one centred on a clear alternative vision for Ghana?
That is a question the party’s leadership must answer convincingly long before the campaign reaches its peak.
