Ampem Darkoa Ladies Snatch Late Winner to Beat Kawempe Muslim 2-1 in CAF Women’s Champions League
Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies continued their impressive campaign in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies in Egypt.
A late strike from Beline Nyarkoh proved decisive as the Ghanaian side claimed all three points in their Group B encounter at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia on Thursday, November 5.
Ampem Darkoa started the contest positively and took the lead in the eighth minute when Nancy Amoh capitalised on a goalkeeping error to put her side ahead.
However, Kawempe Muslim Ladies responded with determination and restored parity in the 33rd minute through Nabirye Shadia, bringing the contest level before the break.
The Ugandan side continued to compete strongly after the restart, creating difficulties for the Ghanaian champions as both teams searched for a decisive goal.
With the match appearing destined for a draw, Ampem Darkoa found the breakthrough in the 83rd minute. Beline Nyarkoh reacted to an opportunity inside the penalty area and found the back of the net to restore her team’s advantage.
The late goal secured a valuable 2-1 victory for the Ghanaian champions, extending their winning run in the competition.
The result gives Ampem Darkoa six points from their opening two Group B matches following their impressive 5-1 victory over Mali’s USFAS Bamako.
Their attention now turns to a crucial final group-stage encounter against Moroccan giants AS FAR, with a place in the semi-finals at stake.
The victory further strengthens Ghana’s hopes of making a significant impact on the continental women’s football stage.
